Board of Directors

Ashraf Bawa has been a loyal and steadfast member of CAMA since its inception. Ms. Bawa’s knowledge of acupuncture, massage and reflexology is from almost 20 years of experience in India and in the United States. Ms. Bawa received her training through the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association and also holds various certifications. Ms. Bawa specializes in acupuncture treatments that range from substance abuse detoxification to pre/post natal pregnancy and elderly care. Ms. Bawa has not only been in practice but has taught courses as well. Ms. Bawa has held various positions such as Hon. Secretary of the Health Board of Southeast USA and Member of Health Board Bombay.

Cheryl Burney
is an experienced, professional hypnotherapist and neurolinguistic practitioner. She has been practicing hypnotherapy for over 10 years and received her training through The American Council of Hypnotist Examiners, the American Board of Hypnotherapists, and Success Strategies. Ms. Burney is a past president of the National Hypnotherapy Association, a member of the Georgia Association of Clinical Hypnotherapists, and a former board member of the Georgia Association of Clinical Hypnotherapists. Ms. Burney lectures widely to business, civic, government, religious, and social organizations and draws her clients from Georgia and surrounding states.

William Michael Cargile received a B.S. in Biology with physics and chemistry minors from Valdosta State University in 1979 and his Doctor of Chiropractic from Life College in Marietta in 1990. He is trained and accredited worldwide in martial arts and acupuncture, is a Fellow of the International Academy of Clinical Acupuncture in Beijing, and is the only non-Asian ever to serve as Research Chairman for the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He currently serves on the Editorial Board for Alternative Medicine: The Definitive Guide, a 1,000-page encyclopedia of complementary medicine.

Rich Denton received a B.S. in Biology from Stockton State College in 1990, where he began to develop an interest in complementary/alternative medicine. This interest led to his receiving certification from the Atlanta National Hypnotherapy Institute as a Master Hypnotist. He currently works for Accenture as a Senior Software Developer specializing in Web development.

Jianshe Liu graduated from China’s Bengbu Medical School and the Medical School of Jinan University. He holds degrees in Medicine, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Traditional Chinese Medicine. He worked in research and as an assistant professor and associate professor at leading medical schools in China. He currently works in research at Morehouse School of Medicine.

Alawode Oladele received his Medical Doctor degree from Morehouse School of Medicine and his Masters of Public Health from Emory University. He completed a Urology Oncology Fellowship at Emory University. He is certified as an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist with the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association. He has participated in research and published articles concerning the role of nutrition in cancer, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, the integration of Traditional and Modern Medicine in Nigeria, and the Role of Traditional Birth Attendants in world health. He presently works in Public Health and International Health, and is also the co-director of the New Millennium Health Center, a wholistic health clinic in Marietta, Georgia.

Mike Raffauf is a graduate of Atlanta Law School and Georgia State University, where he was a Political Science major. He is in private practice, specializing in civil rights and appellate law.

Marjorie Roberts is a Registered Nurse with a B.S. in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin (1974) and an M.S. in Health Professions from Southwest Texas State University (1979), with a major in Administration and minor in Education. In 1995 she received a certificate as a Complementary Medical Practitioner from the Academy of Advanced Complementary Medicines. She is certified as an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist with the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association and became a Registered Trainer for the Association in 1997. Marge currently works part-time at the VA Medical Center in Decatur as a Nurse Clinician/Educator.

Anthony Kweku Andoh, British-educated Ethnobotanist and Traditional African Herbalist, was born in Ghana and is the son of the late J. E. Andoh, Africa’s foremost botanist. (Ethnobotany is the study of the relationship between people of different cultures, the plants that grow around them, and how they use these plants for food, medicine, and household goods). Dr. Andoh comes from a long line of botanists, herbalists, and traditional healers. Dr. Andoh is the author of several books, including his latest book, Biblical Manna - The Spiritual Message for the New Millennium, and his most lauded book, The Science and Romance of Selected Herbs Used in Medicine and Religious Ceremony. In 1982 he founded the “North Scale Institute,” a research and educational group which is now located in College Park, Georgia, along with the All African Healing Arts Society. The Institute is designed to help preserve and safeguard the plants and medical wisdom of Africa and other ancient cultures.

Luc Chaltin has practiced homeopathy for over 30 years in the U.S., Europe, and the Caribbean and is president of the American Academy of Clinical Homeopathy. He taught a post-graduate course to doctors and pharmacists at the University of Courtrai in Belgium, and had his own radio show on alternative health and healing. He wrote a paper about AIDS and the Homeopathic & Alternative approach to treating AIDS patients, which was presented at the AIDS conference in Amsterdam by bestseller-writer Christopher Bird. Luc earned his diploma from the British Institute of Homeopathy and also holds a Naturopathic Doctor degree. In 1993, Luc served on a special committee established to review grant applications for the office of Alternative Medicine at the NIH. He was brought on because of his “…knowledge of alternative medicine and because of his ability to bring rigorous scientific standards to the review of these types of applications.” He is president of Newton Labs, located in Conyers, Georgia.

Ron Parker has been involved in the political arena, working with major political campaigns in both Texas and Georgia. He is experienced as a lobbyist and serves as our political and public relations consultant.

David Schuster completed his medical degree at Albany Medical College and his post-graduate training at Tufts New England Medical Center and Emory University. He is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. He has an interest in Integrative Medicine, and his scholarly papers on the subject have been published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine. He currently serves on staff at Emory University Hospital
